West Chester Men's Swimming Glides By Bloomsburg, 106-85

Meet Results

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– In front of a Senior Day crowd, West Chester’s men’s swimming team eased past PSAC rival Bloomsburg, 106-85, Saturday afternoon at Graham Natatorium. The Golden Rams won 7 of the 11 events, but their depth was far too superior for the Huskies.

Junior Dan Casey was a double winner for West Chester (6-3), touching the wall first in both the 50-yard freestyle (22.22 seconds) and the 100 free (48.55).

West Chester claimed the top three spots in four races and took the top two spots in three others, picking up an insurmountable amount of points, despite winning just half of the events.

Head coach Jamie Rudisill mixed up his lineup on Senior Day, working out many of his swimmers in different events. The Golden Rams competed in their second dual meet in as many days, coming off a tough loss to Division I Pennsylvania on Friday night.

Rod King won the 1000 free in 10 minutes, 5.69 seconds. David Smoker led the Rams’ contingent of three to the finish line in the 200 free while Chris Salomone was the first of three straight Rams to touch the wall in the 200 Individual Medley.

West Chester will rest in preparation for the PSAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming Championships, which will be held February 21-24 at Cumberland High School in Mechanicsburg, Pa. The men will be vying for their 10th straight conference crown at that championship meet.
